Bull & Bear at the Waldorf Astoria Orlando

When the Saucy Prince brings home a glowing school report, there’s only one proper royal response — a grand feast! And what better place than our beloved Waldorf Astoria, home to the legendary Bull & Bear. We’d heard whispers (from very credible foodie sources) that the chicken tenders here were the best in Orlando — and let me tell you, darlings, they absolutely delivered.

Nestled right on Disney World property, the Waldorf Astoria Orlando is pure luxury magic — and home to Peacock Alley, one of our favorite spots for elegant bites and cocktails. Before our feast, we perched ourselves in Peacock Alley with drinks in hand while the pianist played Disney classics — and let me tell you, the Queen was in her element!

Though, when the royal check came in at a tidy $750 with tip, let’s just say — the only thing sharper than that carving knife was the gasp that left my lips.

The Starters – Bread, Bliss & a Pasta Explosion

We began with the bread selection, which was so moreish I nearly declared it a course of its own.

Then came the PASTA EXPLOSION ($27) — Pata Negra de Bellota, Parmigiano Reggiano — like a little bowl of carbonara magic. My King practically bowed to the chef, declaring it “the best thing he’s ever eaten in Orlando.” And trust me, my King takes his carbonara very seriously.

The Prince’s Feast

Our Saucy Prince skipped starters and went straight for the famed BULL AND BEAR FRIED CHICKEN ($52). It arrived like a golden crown — huge, juicy, and tender perfection. He demolished it with royal enthusiasm.

They did forget the fries (we’d swapped them for the mashed potatoes), but once they arrived, peace was restored in the kingdom. The gravy didn’t win him over (he’s a British gravy loyalist), but I thought it was delicious — rich, silky, and deeply flavorful.

The King & Queen’s Carving Spectacle

Then came the main event: the BULL AND BEAR CARVING BOARD ($300).

Tomahawk Steak. Fried Chicken. Maine Lobster Tail. Plus two sides — we chose Applewood Smoked Bacon Mac & Cheese and Mashed Potatoes (not realizing the dish already came with mash… double mash for double indulgence, I suppose).

They carved everything right at the table — including Max’s chicken — and it felt delightfully theatrical. The portions? Fit for four. The flavor? Fit for a Queen.

We added the SAUCE FLIGHT ($20), a lineup of liquid luxury:

  • Peppercorn Sauce
  • Bull & Bear Steak Sauce
  • Foyot Sauce
  • Truffle Red Wine Sauce
  • Spiced Chimichurri
  • Bull & Bear Chimichurri

My favorites were the Peppercorn and Red Wine, while my King swooned over the Chimichurri.

Dessert Theatre – The Ring of Yuzu

Just when we thought the show was over, out came dessert… made tableside!

THE RING OF YUZU ($25) — Yuzu mousse, buttery sablé Breton, strawberry whipped ganache, basil sponge, and all sorts of meringue magic. I couldn’t stop eating it, even though I was already bursting out of my dress — not my most regal moment, but worth every bite.

The Wine & Farewell Sips

A dedicated sommelier graced our table to talk wine (a royal touch I always appreciate). I stuck with my trusty rosé, while the King enjoyed a Merlot blend he deemed “divine.”

We did notice another table brought their own bottle and simply paid corkage — a tip I’m absolutely filing away for next time.

Naturally, we finished with my signature English Breakfast Tea and his double espresso, because even royalty must close the curtain properly.

Saucy Verdict

9/10 – The only thing that could be improved? The check!

It’s definitely a one-off treat — but what an experience. The food, the flair, the service… Bravo, Waldorf. You remain a firm favorite in the Saucy Kingdom.

And if, like me, you adore a bit of hotel dining magic on Disney World property, add Capa at the Four Seasons to your royal dining list. It’s one of our all-time favorites — elegant, elevated, and every bit as indulgent as Bull & Bear. The Queen highly approves.

“Experience more of the same sizzle, with these saucy reviews.”
