Ah, darlings! Let me take you on a journey to one of our favorite spots at the Four Seasons Resort Orlando—Plancha, the Cuban restaurant that serves up magic on a plate while offering views of a serene lake that could make any royal swoon. If you’re looking for the ultimate escape from the Florida heat and want to treat yourself to some spectacular Cuban-inspired dishes, look no further. This is not just any restaurant, it’s a slice of paradise where food, drinks, and the environment come together to make your day truly unforgettable.
On our latest visit, my Saucy King and I decided to sit outside on the terrace by the lake. Now, I must say, this is the spot to be. While Florida’s weather can be overwhelmingly hot, the shaded terrace at Plancha offers the perfect respite, with fans swirling the air to keep you cool while you relax. It’s the kind of place where time slows down, and you can just unwind and savor the moment, surrounded by natural beauty and the tranquil views of the lake.
We sipped cocktails, nibbled on delicious bites, and enjoyed one of the best things in life: Veuve Clicquot Brut Yellow Label. Oh yes, darling, what’s a day of indulgence without some champagne? As a queen, it’s my go-to drink for any special occasion. At $150 a bottle, it’s a bit on the pricier side, but trust me, the luxury and the joy it brings make it well worth the cost. I prefer it with a bit of extra flair, so the lovely server brought me a delightful selection of fresh fruit—strawberries, blackberries, and raspberries—adding that royal touch to my glass. It was nothing short of perfection.
After our leisurely sipping session, we got the royal treatment and were whisked away on a golf buggy to explore more of the stunning Four Seasons property. If you’ve never been to the Four Seasons Orlando, let me tell you—it’s the only place to stay if you’re visiting Disney (at least, in my royal opinion). The lush grounds, impeccable service, and elegant atmosphere make it the ideal getaway for any discerning royal, like yours truly.
Now, let’s get to the main event—the food. Plancha is the kind of place where you can sit back, relax, and share a meal in the most luxurious setting possible. We opted for a mix of appetizers and shared plates, which is the perfect way to sample everything without feeling too stuffed. Here’s what we indulged in:
Let’s start with the Guacamole—because who doesn’t love a good, creamy guacamole? This version was deliciously smooth with a subtle kick, made even more divine by the addition of corn relish. But the real magic happened with the naan chips. Now, these were unlike anything I’ve ever had before. They were soft, light, and fluffy, providing the perfect base for scooping up the guac. It was love at first bite, and trust me, I couldn’t get enough of them. Note to self: Next time I bring the Saucy Prince, he gets his own basket of naan chips—because these are too good to share.
Next, we dove into the Smoked Buttermilk Chicken Wings. Now, I’m no stranger to wings, but these were something special. The options for the rub included Caribbean Jerk Dry Rub, Honey Chipotle Barbecue, and Buffalo. But we went for the Jerk Dry Rub, which turned out to be absolutely perfect. The wings were smoky, tender, and bursting with flavor. The best part? The skin was crispy and the rub added just the right amount of spice, without being overwhelming. I could’ve eaten a whole platter, but we had more food to try!
Next, we moved on to the Brisket Grilled Cheese Sliders, which were a real treat. The Cerveza Braised Brisket was incredibly flavorful, perfectly paired with crispy onion, and a Boursin Chihuahua Mix. These sliders were so good that we opted to add a fourth one (since we were definitely not sharing the third slider). The bread was perfectly toasted, and the mix of the rich, melt-in-your-mouth brisket and the creamy cheese made each bite irresistible. Pro tip: Order extra—thank me later.
For our main course, we went with the Latin Fresh Salad with Swordfish—a fresh and light dish, perfect for a hot Florida day. The salad consisted of Boston Bibb, baby red lettuce, cotija, watermelon radish, and cucumber, all tossed in a citrus vinaigrette. Adding the Swordfish ($16 extra) brought a beautifully seared fish that added a rich, smoky flavor to the dish. I have to say, this is one of my favorite meals at Plancha, and I’ve had it more than once. It’s light, refreshing, and the perfect balance of flavors. At $33, it’s a steal for the amount of fish and fresh ingredients packed into the salad.
With every bite, I was reminded why Plancha is one of my go-to spots at the Four Seasons. The service is always top-notch, the ambiance is perfect for a lazy day by the water, and the food is simply divine. There’s something special about spending time at a place where you feel like royalty, from the stunning lake views to the personalized service. Whether you’re visiting Disney or just in the mood for a relaxing day at one of Orlando’s most beautiful resorts, Plancha offers the perfect escape.
As much as I absolutely adore Plancha, I have to be honest—there’s always room for a little improvement. While the food was fantastic and the service impeccable, Cuban cuisine just isn’t my first choice of food. But if Cuban is your thing, this place will undoubtedly earn a 10/10 in your book. The combination of flavors, the light but satisfying dishes, and the gorgeous setting make it a must-visit for any food lover.
So, will I be back? Absolutely. Plancha offers the ideal spot for a relaxing day by the lake, complete with delicious food and drinks. If you’re looking for a place to unwind, sip on some champagne, and enjoy a royal feast, Plancha is the place to be.
Until next time.
