Saucy Meal Queen Review: The Chocolate Emporium at Universal Orlando

Well, darlings, hold onto your hats (and your taste buds) because this Saucy Family outing was nothing short of deliciously magical. The Saucy Queen, King, Prince, and the fabulous Mom Susan descended upon The Chocolate Emporium at Universal Orlando for a feast that was bound to make any chocolate lover weak at the knees. Let me tell you, the moment we walked through those doors, we were hit with the sweet smell of chocolate heaven. It was like stepping into a dream, and let me assure you, it didn’t disappoint.

Let’s talk about first impressions, because darlings, when you’re greeted by a massive display of chocolates, colorful treats, and decadent goodies, you know you’re in for a sweet treat of a time. The chocolate counters were filled to the brim with all sorts of indulgent temptations. And of course, you know me, I went straight for the soft-centered chocolates. Bright, colorful, and oh-so-flavorful—they were absolutely divine. Pro tip: I’ve already added a selection box to my Christmas wish list. Santa, darling, take note! 🎁🍫

But enough about the chocolate (for now)—let’s get into the fun of it all!

The Vibe: Quirky Characters & Photo Opportunities

As with any fabulous meal at The Chocolate Emporium, there’s always a touch of magic and quirkiness. Enter Penelope and Jacques, the restaurant’s quirky walk-around characters. These two were an absolute delight, bringing some extra pizzazz to the experience. Of course, the Saucy Family couldn’t resist snapping a few photos with them. After all, who doesn’t want to capture a memory or two with Goofy—I mean, Penelope and Jacques?

Now, Max, our Saucy Prince, is in that awkward ‘almost teenage’ phase, where he’s suddenly too cool for these sorts of things. Oh, the joys of growing up—we’ll let him live his best life. But as for Jamie (the Saucy King) and Susan, there was no shame in their game. They were front and center, snapping away, enjoying the quirky side of life. You know what they say, “Memories are made with chocolate and photos.” 📸

Let’s Talk About the Food: Where Flavor Meets Fun

As you can imagine, the Saucy Family is all about sharing (except when it comes to chocolate, of course—some things are non-negotiable). We started with a few appetizers to get the party started.

Baked Brie en Croute – $14.95

We kicked things off with the Baked Brie en Croute, a decadent and buttery dish that’s an instant crowd-pleaser. The combination of the soft brie wrapped in flaky pastry was simply divine, and we were all quickly digging in. No shame in our game, darlings. We devoured this dish before I even had the chance to write down the details—the cheese was that good.

Totchos – $12.95

Next up, we went for the Totchos—that’s right, tater tots with a fun twist. Tater tots topped with all sorts of saucy goodness. It was comfort food at its finest, a perfect dish to share as we continued our meal. The crispy tots with melted cheese, sour cream, and toppings gave us just the right amount of satisfaction, and it quickly became a crowd favorite.

Philly Cheesesteak Rolls – $14.95

We couldn’t resist the Philly Cheesesteak Rolls either. These little gems were filled with shaved Angus beef, caramelized peppers & onions, and wrapped in a crispy outer shell. Oh, and the cherry pepper aioli on the side? It was the perfect dipping sauce, adding an extra kick that took this dish to next-level delicious.

Susan’s Pick: Chicken Bercy – $24.95

Now, let’s talk about Susan, who is the adventurous eater in the family. She went for the Chicken Bercy—a tender boneless chicken breast cooked in white wine, demi-glaze, lemon juice, shallots, and butter, all served with asparagusand Yukon Gold mashed potatoes. The chicken was juicy and flavorful, just the way you want it to be. But here’s a little tip from the Saucy Queen: ask for it hot. Over the years, we’ve noticed that sometimes the dish comes out a little lukewarm if you don’t specifically request it. But when it’s piping hot, it’s absolutely mouthwatering.

The Queen’s Choice: Pork Fricassee – $31.95

As for me, the Saucy Queen, I decided to indulge in the Pork Fricassee—seared bone-in pork chop with creamy white mushroom sauce, spinach, carrots, Yukon Gold mash, and a touch of apple chutney. Now, the flavor was out of this world—tender, juicy, and just the right amount of richness. However, darlings, let me offer you this royal advice: pork chops and roller coasters are not besties. I made the mistake of diving into this hearty meal before heading out to experience the theme park. Trust me, next time, I’ll save this for the ride home. 🎢🍽️

The King’s Pick: Cheddar Bacon Burger – $19.95

Now, Jamie, our burger-loving King, couldn’t resist the Cheddar Bacon Burger—a half-pound house-made patty, with bibb lettuce, roasted tomato, signature sauce, and a sesame seed bun. While the King gave it a solid thumbs-up, he did admit that it wasn’t quite as spectacular as he was hoping. It was solid, but not something he would write home about. If you’re a burger lover, this one is a safe choice, but it didn’t quite blow us away.

Max’s Pick: The Theme Park Burger

Sadly, our Saucy Prince Max has become a little jaded by The Chocolate Emporium after a few visits. He went with a basic theme park burger, which, let’s be honest, wasn’t the most exciting option. We can’t always win them over with fancy meals, especially when the Prince has reached that age where he’s too cool for anything but a simple burger.

The Final Saucy Verdict: A Solid 7/10

So, what’s the Saucy Meal Queen’s final verdict on The Chocolate Emporium? 7/10, darling. It’s a solid choice, but it’s not a perfect 10. When the Saucy Prince is not happy, it’s hard to reach that magical score. However, the chocolate, the desserts, and the overall fun vibe of the place make up for a lot.

If you’re looking for a fun spot with great chocolate, quirky characters, and a good mix of savory and sweet dishes, then The Chocolate Emporium is a great pick for a family outing. But just know, if you’re seeking something more gastronomically stellar, there are other places in Orlando that will really knock your socks off.
