A Saucy Meal Queen Review: PF Chang’s at Mall at Millenia

Darlings, gather ‘round because it’s time for another one of my royal dining experiences, and, unfortunately, this one didn’t quite go as planned for PF Chang’s at Mall at Millenia. Picture it: holiday shopping at the Mall at Millenia with the Saucy King by my side, a wave from Santa (who was on the clock), and the promise of a fabulous meal at PF Chang’s. Sounds perfect, right? Well, not so much. My advice, stick with Capital Grille or Brio.

While I did enjoy a bit of Christmas cheer, PF Chang’s at Mall at Millenia was a massive letdown. We had high hopes—after all, we’d had a decent experience the first time we dined here. This time? Not so much. Let’s get into the nitty-gritty of it all, shall we?

The Drink: Pear Mojito? More Like… Mojito

Let’s start with the drink, because every meal deserves a proper toast, right? I ordered the Pear Mojito, thinking I’d be sipping on something fruity, refreshing, and fun. Sadly, the drink didn’t even remotely live up to its name. There was no hint of pear whatsoever, and honestly, they could’ve just called it a regular Mojito and saved everyone some confusion. The mint and lime were there, but where was the pear? It was a major miss, and not a good way to start off the meal.

Northern Style Pork Spare Ribs: A Fatty Disaster

Next up were the Northern Style Pork Spare Ribs. Oh, darlings, if I could describe this dish in one word, it would be: disappointing. The pork was pure fat—and I’m not talking about a little marbling here and there. No, no. These ribs were more fat than meat. In fact, we each took one bite and couldn’t stomach any more. It was just greasy, fatty, and downright unappetizing. I hate to say it, but we didn’t even finish them, and trust me, that’s a rarity in the Saucy family.

Veggie Spring Rolls: A Skip for the Saucy King

Now, if you know the Saucy King, you know that veggie spring rolls are his thing. He loves them with a passion, so when they hit the table, I thought for sure we’d be in for a treat. Wrong. He took one bite, left the rest, and didn’t even bother with a second attempt. As for me? I didn’t even try them. If the Saucy King won’t eat them, then they’re certainly not fit for my royal palate. A real shame because, in the past, I’ve had some decent spring rolls. But these? Just plain bland and uninspiring.

Sweet and Sour Chicken: Where’s the Chicken?

Let’s talk about Sweet and Sour Chicken, shall we? The first thing that hits you is the sauce—sweet and sour, just as advertised. But where, oh where, was the chicken? I swear, this dish was like eating nothing but the coating. No meat to be found! I don’t know about you, but when I order sweet and sour chicken, I expect to taste chicken. Sadly, that was not the case here. It felt like they forgot the key ingredient and served up a giant serving of breading instead. Talk about a letdown.

Fried Rice: Soggy and Sad

Now, I’ll admit, I’ve had my share of fried rice in my life, and I know it’s hard to mess up. But somehow, PF Chang’s managed to do just that. The fried rice with beef, pork, and shrimp was a soggy disaster. The rice wasn’t crisp in the slightest, and instead of the fluffy texture I was craving, I got a plate of mushy rice that lacked any real flavor. I really didn’t think it was possible to go wrong with fried rice, but somehow, they pulled it off. This was a serious disappointment, and I couldn’t help but wonder how they managed to mess up such a simple dish.

Dynamite Shrimp: The Only Bright Spot

At this point, I was ready to call it quits, but there was one dish that barely saved the day: the Dynamite Shrimp. It wasn’t as great as I remembered from other visits, but at least it had some flavor. Crispy, crunchy, and with just the right amount of heat, it was the only thing I didn’t want to push aside. I’d give it a 4/10, which is saying something considering it was the best thing we ate. But don’t get too excited—this wasn’t a game-changer, just a slight redemption from the overall mediocrity.

Drinks: Asahi and Whispering Angel

Now, let’s talk drinks, because I do love a good drink pairing with my meal. The Saucy King opted for Asahi, a Japanese lager, which he found perfectly refreshing. As for me, I should have stuck with wine (which I regretfully didn’t do). They had Whispering Angel on the menu, and I should’ve gone for a glass of that crisp, refreshing rosé, but instead, I was swayed into trying something else. Lesson learned.

Service: Friendly, But Not Enough to Save the Meal

On the bright side, our server was lovely and tried to make the best out of the situation, despite the food not living up to expectations. She was attentive, friendly, and tried to make suggestions when we seemed unsure of what to order. Unfortunately, no amount of friendly service can make up for subpar food.

Saucy Verdict: 3/10 – P.F. Chang’s at Mall at Millenia

So, what’s the final score, darlings? I’m giving P.F. Chang’s a 3/10. The service was lovely, the atmosphere at the Mall at Millenia is nice, and I did enjoy a wave from Santa. But when it comes down to it, the food was just bland, lackluster, and disappointing. I couldn’t justify spending another penny here for a meal that left me feeling unfulfilled.

I’ve had much better meals at other places, and honestly, I don’t see myself coming back. PF Chang’s, you had a good run with us, but this was the final straw. If you’re looking for flavor, this isn’t the place to find it. Until next time, darlings, stay saucy, but stay away from this one.
