Saucy Meal Queen Review: Wavehouse – Atlantis The Palm, Dubai

The Ultimate Family Hangout

Wavehouse at Atlantis The Palm is the perfect blend of fun, food, and relaxation. This vibrant venue has it all: a bowling alley, giant sports screens, an expansive arcade, soft play for the little ones, and a fantastic menu of food and drinks. Whether you’re looking to enjoy a lively family outing or just relax with a drink while the kids burn off some energy, Wavehouse has something for everyone.

During our three-week stay at Atlantis, we found ourselves returning to Wavehouse almost daily. The saucy king spent hours watching sports on the big screens, while I took my laptop to get some work done, and our prince entertained himself with endless fun in the play house and arcades. It quickly became our go-to spot for playtime, meals, and a bit of downtime.

The Experience

Wavehouse isn’t just about the food, the experience is just as memorable.

  • Half-Board Perks: If you’re on the half-board plan, you can enjoy a starter, main, and dessert for either lunch or dinner with no additional fees. A great way to make the most of your stay.
  • Drinks: The selection is fantastic. I enjoyed my go-to French rosé, Whispering Angel, while Jamie sipped on pints of Asahi lager. Be prepared for Dubai standard pricy drinks, but the quality makes it worth it.
  • Soft Play Area: A huge plus for families. Max loved the soft play, and the entrance was fully secure, no one could get in or out without staff permission. They even give parents a vibrating monitor so you can relax in the bar area while your child plays.
  • Exceptional Service: The staff truly care about your experience. On our last day, they surprised us with a surfboard filled with desserts (for free!) featuring cheesecake, fruit salad, and sticky toffee pudding. A gesture that perfectly summed up their outstanding hospitality.

The Food

With so many visits, we managed to sample quite a bit of the menu. Here are some highlights:

  • The Burger (for my king): A towering creation served in a black bun with a giant can of cheese that poured over the burger in dramatic fashion. Jamie said it was tasty but a bit too messy for his liking.
  • Salmon Fillet: My personal favorite! Served with peas and creamy mashed potatoes, it was simple but beautifully done.
  • Buffalo Chicken Burger: Max loved it, especially the curly fries, but I found the sauce too overpowering and a bit sickly.
  • Apple Crumble with Ice Cream: Pure dessert heaven. Warm, sweet, and utterly divine, a must-try.

On another visit, we indulged in a variety of dishes:

  • Butter Chicken: Rich and flavorful, a classic choice. I think Max had this about four times in total. I mean, he is the saucy prince after all.
  • Kids Hotdog and Spaghetti Bolognese: Perfect kid-friendly options that Max devoured, but sometimes the saucy queen just needed to eat off the kids menu. Three weeks half board will do that to any queen.
  • Chicken, Leek & Tarragon Pie: While I originally ordered the Wagyu Beef Pie, they mistakenly brought this instead. It turned out to be delicious, and in true Dubai style, they graciously apologized and offered to bring out the correct order. I declined. The queen doesn’t like waste.

The Saucy Verdict

10/10. Wavehouse exceeded all our expectations. Max loved every second, the staff were wonderful, and the food was delicious and comforting. The atmosphere was relaxed and family-friendly, making it a highlight of our stay. The saucy family will definitely be back, this is a place we’ll always remember fondly!

Until then.

Stay saucy, Saucy Meal Queen.
